Velocity Sports & Entertainment is one of the county’s leading lifestyle and experiential marketing agencies. Velocity offers a unique and rewarding management training program for college graduates seeking entry to the sports and entertainment sponsorship marketing industry. Trainees are placed among each of the company’s four divisions: Consulting, Events, Measurement and Property Representation.

In addition to nominal salary, trainees are eligible for benefits including health insurance, term life insurance and long-term disability. The trainee position lasts six months (January-June), at which point successful trainees are hired on long-term with the company, based on availability. Consulting provides full service sponsorship consulting services to its clients. From sponsorship selection and negotiation, to program creation and execution, Consulting prides itself on its strategic capabilities and knowledge of the sports and entertainment industry. The Consulting division ensures that clients fully utilize and exploit their sponsorship assets in order to create successful marketing programs.

Trainees in Consulting will be assigned to specific accounts and become involved with all aspects of the account management process. Through extensive research, writing, and creative ideation, Consulting trainees gain a nuanced and in-depth understanding of the sports and entertainment sponsorship industry. Trainees work closely with staff at all levels and are exposed to numerous growth opportunities throughout the six month period.

Major responsibilities include research, the preparation of documents/presentations for internal and external distribution, the upkeep of databases and tracking systems, and creative brainstorming.

The ideal candidate possesses a resourceful, can-do attitude, excellent research skills, an understanding of the marketing industry, strong written and oral communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Events (Job Code: 30)
The Events group provides event management services to clients across various industries with an emphasis on client hosting programs, typically surrounding sporting events or business meetings.

Trainees in events will assist in developing many of the components involved in producing programs for corporate clients such as concept ideation, venue research, hotel and transportation management, optional activities, food and beverage planning, gifting, attendee database management, and budget reconciliation. They may also gain exposure and experience in event planning by attending on-site customer hosting programs and meetings.

Major responsibilities include researching, analyzing, and summarizing data for client presentations, coordinating and managing shipping logistics, providing creative support, assisting with gifting and premium research, on-site event assistance as needed, and creative brainstorming.

The ideal candidate possess an energetic and flexible attitude suited for a fast-paced and changing environment, strong attention to detail, superior organizational and time management skills and the ability to multi-task, strong written and oral communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Property Representation (Job Code: 40)
Property Representation provides consulting services to sports and entertainment properties and rights holders, with an emphasis on sales development and execution in the sponsorship marketplace.

Trainees in Property Representation will generate sales leads, create partnership presentations, and develop sponsor activation concepts. This position will allow the trainee to work closely with a highly experienced team while learning about both sponsorship consulting and sales for top-tier sports and entertainment properties.

Major responsibilities include providing sponsorship market analysis and research, generating sales leads, developing ideas for target brand activation, and activity tracking and organization.
